Betr announced a product called Rips as part of its Betr 2.0 release on September 8, 2026. As of October 2026, it has not launched. This page records what has been said, what remains unknown, and what we will look at once it goes live. We will update it and publish a review at launch.

What Betr announced

The announcement came with the Betr 2.0 release on September 8, 2026. It named a Rips product. That is the extent of what we can confirm. No launch date has been given in the information we have, and the product details are unknown to us at this point.

We are deliberately not filling the gaps with guesses. Some coverage elsewhere may assume that anything called Rips follows a particular model, but a name alone does not tell you how a product works.

Which kind of product it might be

Within mystery pack sites there are three product types:

  1. Card platforms, where a digital card pack is bundled with one redeemable coin and the coin plays games and redeems.
  2. Real-card rips, where each digital pack holds a real vaulted graded card that you can ship or sell back.
  3. Goods mystery boxes, with posted odds on items like tech and sneakers.

The word "rips" is the vocabulary most associated with the second type, and sites like Rips by Triumph, Underdog Rips and Stadium Vault use it. But Betr has not said which model it will use, and we will not assume. If it launches as a real-card product, we would compare it with those. If it launches as something else, we will compare it to the right group. Our guide to how mystery pack sites work explains each type in detail.

What we do not know yet

This is the list that matters, because each item changes whether a product is worth your money.

  • When it launches. There is no confirmed date we can point to.
  • What the product is. Whether it sells real cards, digital cards with a coin, goods, or something new.
  • Who operates it. The legal entity running the product matters, and may differ from the brand name on the app.
  • Where it is available. Pack sites set their own eligibility lists. We cannot say whether Alabama will be included until Betr publishes its list.
  • Minimum age. Different brands in this category use different minimums, such as 18 or 21.
  • Pricing and tiers. How much a pack costs, and whether there are tiers.
  • Odds disclosure. Whether odds are shown before purchase.
  • Buyback and redemption terms. What you receive if you sell back or redeem, any minimums, and how long payouts take.

How we will review it when it launches

Our approach for every brand in this category is the same, and we would apply it here. We will identify the operator and its jurisdiction, record the eligibility list as the operator states it, with a verification date, and note the minimum age. We will check how packs are priced and whether odds are posted. We will document redemption or buyback terms, including minimums and units, and we will report what we actually observe rather than what the marketing says.

We will only describe testing we have actually done. Until the product exists, there is nothing to test, so this page does not score or rate Rips.

Why it matters

The category is moving quickly. Part of the reason is that California and New York banned sweepstakes casinos, with laws effective in December 2025 and January 2026, and single-currency card platforms launched to serve those states. That model has not been tested in court as of October 2026. A new entrant from an established name would be notable, which is a reason to be careful with early claims.

What to do in the meantime

If you want something in the same family today, our reviewed options are laid out in sites like Card Crush and sites like PackDraw. The three-way card-platform comparison is at Card Crush vs Albumza vs ZumbaCards. A second announced-but-unconfirmed product is covered in Coinbase rip packs.

Be wary of any third-party page that claims to explain Betr Rips in detail before launch, including referral pages that describe features Betr has not published. If a page cannot name the operator and the eligibility list, it is not describing a live product.

This page reflects what was known as of October 2026 and will be updated when Betr publishes details or launches.
